Annual Fee: $95
Benefits and Drawbacks: The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card starts you out with 60,000 bonus points when you spend $4,000 on your card within three months of account opening, and you can turn those points into $750 in travel through the Chase portal or potentially more travel with Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners.
You can also cash in your rewards for gift cards or statement credits at a rate of one cent per point, making the bonus on this card worth $600 in rewards if you go that route. Other redemption options include merchandise through retailers like Apple and Amazon.com, where you can use your points to shop directly for the items you want.
The major drawback of this card is the $95 annual fee, and the fact that you won’t get travel perks like you do with the more expensive Reserve version. However, this card does still offer some travel benefits like trip delay and cancellation coverage, lost and delayed baggage insurance and car rental insurance.
